The type of unit you need depends on what you’re storing and the amount of space you’ll require. Here, Columbia Smart Storage gives a quick guide to help you decide what size of storage unit you’ll need.
Unit Sizes We Offer:
- The smallest unit is 5’ by 10’. This is 50 square feet, which is about the size of a large walk-in closet. This is a great choice for a college student home for the summer, or anyone else who just needs to store a few furniture items, like sofas, chairs, mattresses, and box springs.
- A 10’ by 10’ unit is half the size of a one-car garage. This unit is big enough to hold about as much furniture as you might find in a one bedroom apartment. If you’re staging your home in order to sell it, this is a great place to put your extra furniture.
- A 10’ by 25’ is about the size of a one-car garage. If you have a lot to store, consider this size!
